Followers Call for Custody of Individual Who Touched Ariana Grande
Devoted supporters of the pop star are demanding that a individual who leaped a fence and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared video depicts the individual from Australia bypassing media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a promenade accompanied by onlookers.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the premiere by guards.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers revealed that he was set to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
Record of Incidents
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account contains recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last winter.
"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is clearly a legal violation," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user questioned.
Followers Voice Worry Over Grande's Safety
Several followers criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote one more comment on Instagram.
Several attendees also faulted security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.
Response and Event Details
In clips shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.
Many of fans had gathered in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it began.
The motion picture, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the popular stage show Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected bond between two very different witches.
The production itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.
They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of last year in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
