Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, the skilled cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards throughout the show.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by experts.
